Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin ended an 18-year wait for a men's doubles title at the Indonesia Open after they came from behind to win on Sunday.
The Malaysians stormed back from a game down to beat young Indonesian pair Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin 13-21, 21-18, 21-10 to win their second silverware of the year.
Coincidentally, they also won their first title of 2026 at the same Istara Senoyan venue when they won the Indonesia Masters in January.
But winning this Super 1000 is a massive boost for them, especially considering the good form they have been in.
Goh-Izzudin had beaten world number one pair Seo Seung-jae-Kim Won-ho on Saturday to reach this final, and the world number eight proved that win was no fluke.
They did not start well though, surrendering the first game after making many unforced errors.
But thankfully they recovered and used their strengthens and experience to overcome the local pair.
They were more composed, built a great defence and put immense pressure on their opponents through their potent counter-attacks.
This victory also makes for the disappointment at the Malaysia Masters final two weeks ago, where they lost in the final in straight games.
Equally as important, Goh-Izzudin have become the latest Malaysian pair to win this tournament since Mohd Zakry Latif-Fairuzizuan Tazari won it back in 2008.
