Despite not finishing their final tournament with silverware, national women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah will finish the 2025 season as Malaysia’s most successful shuttlers.
Tan-Thinaah reached the just concluded World Tour Finals (WTF) semi-finals to finish a memorable year that saw them breaking records in their pursuits this year.

This includes becoming champions three times on the World Tour after winning the Thailand Open, Arctic Open and Japan Masters, which is the most titles they have won on the World Tour in a single calendar year.
They also finished runners-up at the Indonesia Masters, Indonesia Open, Japan Open and the World Championships which saw them become the first Malaysian women’s pair to win a silver medal.
The world number two pair also reached their highest world ranking through their consistent performances, where they consistently reached the semi-finals.
After their WTF campaign in Hangzhou, China, Tan and Thinaah vowed to enter 2026 with renewed hopes and aspirations.
The duo will take a short break before they compete at the upcoming Malaysia Open, the 2026 season opener taking place at the Axiata Arena from Jan 6-11.
