Malaysian artistic gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi couldn't hold back her tears after not making it into the women's individual all-around final at the 2020 Olympic Games.
Making her Olympic debut in Tokyo this year, the 27-year-old scored a total of 48.565 points to finish 68th out of 85 female gymnasts competing in the qualifying event.
The seven-time SEA Games gold medalist scored her highest in the vault event with 13.166 points, while she struggled on the uneven bars and balance beam, scoring below the 12-point mark.
Reflecting on her result, Farah Ann remained happy and proud to be able to compete at the Olympics.
"Obviously I made some mistakes, but I just told myself that I couldn't change what already happened and had to move on to the next event.
I'm still grateful that I could compete [at the Olympic Games] today and I really gave everything I got. I'm satisfied with my performance," she told Astro Arena.
Meanwhile, gold medal favourite Simone Biles topped the qualifying results with 57.731 points overall, followed by Brazil's Rebeca Andrade (57.399 points) and USA's Sunisa Lee (57.166 points).
